Luis del Peso

I'm Associate Professor at the UAM Department of Biochemistry where I have both teaching and research duties. Regarding research, my group is focused on the study of the regulation of gene expression by hypoxia with the long term goal of exploiting the knowledge in this field to better understand pathologies that course with hypoxia including cardiovascular and respiratory diseases and cancer. We approach this research problem by a combination of computational, molecular and cellular biology techniques. As regards of teaching, I'm currently teaching the following undergraduate and master courses: "Bioinformatics and Systems Biology", "Programming Tools for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology", "Applied Statistics" and "Gene Expression".
